Bombay Teen Challenge has been working in this district for the past twenty years, rescuing and restoring broken lives. In January 2012, RA Dickey, Cy Young Award winner, partnered with Bombay Teen Challenge to end human trafficking in Mumbai, India. He climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro to help raise over $100,000 to help open a new medical clinic in Navi Mumbai, a new area emerging as a red light district.
It is incredible that the building purchased was once a brothel. Now with the help of R.A. Dickey and many other supporters of Bombay Teen Challenge, this building has been transformed into a medical clinic to reach out to the destitute in the area. Our outreach works through the relationships we build over time through these clinical visits to engage the women and children trapped in the red light district and set them free. As Navi Mumbai’s red light district is just emerging, the placement of this medical clinic is strategic to helping BTC be on the offensive in fighting sex trafficking in this area.
