AIDS Orphan Home

The AIDS Orphan Home located in Badlapur West, District Thane was established to care for the orphaned children of destitute parents who died from AIDS. There are currently 35 orphans living in the AIDS Orphan Home, most of who are also infected with AIDS.

The homes provides these children a safe place to grow up in, where they can receive love and the necessary medical attention to combat such a disease, far removed from the stigma and rejection of both being poor and children of brothels as well as inflicted with AIDS.

The older children are able to attend school and participate in many extracurricular events and activities.

Each story is unique but here is an example of how the  Home was able to change the lives of two little children forever;

The BTC staff found three year old, Shabhanna and her one year old brother, Pir Mohammad at the local hospital in the city of Mumbai. Their life had begun in despair and it seemed like this is how it was going to end for them also. Their mother was a women that was forced into prostitution and living in the brothels. She gave birth to three children not out of a loving relationship with her husband. Rather, it was through an anonymous man that seeked nothing more than to gratify his own desires. As a result, she gave birth to three children and also contracted the HIV virus. Once this disease began ravaging her body, she became useless to her owners. They threw her and her children out into the streets with the same respect that is given to stray animals. Within a short period of time, this young mother passed away. Left with no other option, the oldest of the three children brought the younger two to a local hospital and ran away. At the time Pir Mohammad was in his last stages and had HIV. The staff heard this story and was moved to compassion, they took these two to the BTC home for orphans. They have now been at BTC for about six years and are healthy, strong, and full of life. Shabanna’s character has remained consistent as she shows the same love and concern for all the children that come in.

By supporting BTC you are able to continue the care for orphaned children such as this and can give them a fighting chance for a better future than the lives they have known. We ask that you support BTC through your continued prayers and if you feel led to support through financially giving. If you would like to contribute financially we kindly request you consider giving on a monthly basis to maintain the continued care AIDS Orphans Home provides through housing, food, medical attention and education.
